Thomas Joseph Foley, 78, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, with his family by his side.
Born on June 16, 1945, in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Powers) Foley. He was the devoted husband of Beatrice M. (Long) Foley; the beloved father of Thomas Joseph Foley, Jr. (Tammy M. Coughlin-Foley) of Warrenton, VA and Shannan Foley (Karla Foley) of Jacksonville, FL; and the loving grandfather of Thomas Joseph Foley, III.
While residing in Norristown, Tom graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1963 and was an active parishioner of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church for many years. Tom honorably served in the U.S. Navy and had a long, successful career with the UPS. After retiring, Tom settled down in Locust Hill, VA, where he and Bea enjoyed hosting their family and friends for 28 years. Tom also enjoyed traveling to Aruba and hosting the annual J.B. Foley Memorial Golf Outing, in honor of his late brother Jay Foley.
In addition to his beloved wife, children, and grandchild, Tom is survived by sister, Linda (Jack) Ochnich of Norristown, PA; sister, Karen (the late Daniel) Conners of Oaks, PA; brother, Gary (Kathy) Foley of Collegeville, PA; sister, Christine (Joe) Gambone of Gilbertsville ; and two sisters- in-law, Joan Foley of Limerick, PA and Nancy Foley of Orlando, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Foley and Jay Foley.
Tom's Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 2007 New Hope Street, Norristown, PA 19401. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the church.
