Obituary

Theresa B. Smith

Theresa Bernadette Smith (nee Bosak), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister died peacefully on Tuesday, June 9th at the age of 91.

Born in Clarence, Pa on August 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Tofilia (Kobularick) Bosak. As a young girl growing up on a farm, Theresa embraced the values of faith, family and hardworking spirit that would define her character throughout life.  Theresa graduated from Snowshoe High School in 1952 where she served as class president.

Theresa moved to Cleveland, Ohio after graduation, where she met her husband Edward Joseph Smith of Bridgeport, Pa.  They were married on May 9th in 1959, settled in Conshohocken, PA, and were blessed with 3 children. In 1972, after only 13 years of marriage, Theresa lost the love of her life.  With grace, determination and faith she carried on as both mother and father, providing a loving and nurturing home for her young children.

A devout catholic, Theresa was a member of St. Saint Matthew's Parish for the past 67 years. She found great joy in her faith and treasured the many friendships she formed through her church community.

Theresa worked for the Bell Telephone Company during most of her years in Conshohocken.  When her children were young, she devoted much of her time to volunteering at St. Matthew's School, and later at an elder care facility offering comfort and companionship to the senior residents.

Theresa was an avid gardener, a huge Phillies fan and a frequent visitor to the casinos to play the slots. She loved watching Hallmark movies, reading on her Kindle, doing word searches and scratching lottery tickets.  The many friends she had from the Conshohocken area, lovingly called her, "Tessie."  An animal lover at heart, Theresa cherished the many family pets she cared for over the years, especially her own cat, Nel.

Theresa is survived by her son Edward Smith Jr. of Coatesville, daughters Maryann Smith-Wood (Ken), and Trisha Smith (Michael Schermick) both of Parkesburg, and grandson Edward Smith III (Abigail) of Victoria, Canada.

Along with her husband and parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her 14 siblings Joseph, Ann Danko, Thomas, Phillip, Helen Surovec, Marion Chambers, Andrew, Sr. Antoinette IHM, Frank, John, Peggy Krupa, and infants Frank and John.

A memorial mass for Theresa will be held at St. Matthew RC Church (219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA) on Monday, June 15th, 2026 at 10:30 AM.  Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 9:30 to10:15 AM at the church.

Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery in King of Prussia, PA.
