Ronald J. McGrath, age 83, formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1942, the son of the late Timothy and Mildred (Kenney) McGrath.
Ron was raised in Nativity BVM in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia and lived most of his life in St. Katherine of Siena Parish in Torresdale. He later lived in North Wildwood, NJ for many years, where he was a member of the Elks Club and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed golf and shooting darts. He was active with the Survivors of Cancer (SOC) group in Wildwood and worked as a Tram Car driver on the boardwalk.
He was the husband of the late Joann "Sis" (O'Hea) McGrath.
He is survived by two daughters, Janine (Lee) Franks of Harleysville, PA and Mickie McGrath (the late Ken Sikes) of Trappe, PA; son, Sean (Kate) McGrath of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Judy Pickford of Huntingdon Valley, PA; brother, Timothy (Michelle) McGrath of Vineland, NJ; and sister in-law Kathleen (Michael) O'Neill of Montgomeryville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Renata (Shane) Clark, Zackery McGrath, Kylie Franks and Tyler Franks; one great grandson, Kolton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mildred Gill, Edward McGrath, James McGrath, Mary Ovington, Lorraine McGrath and Gerald McGrath.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 12:00 PM in St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM in the Church prior to Mass.
Interment will be private.
