Robert L. Glisson
Robert L. Glisson, 87, Loving husband of Charmayne C. Glisson of Conshohocken, Pa, passed to eternal life Monday, April 3, 2023. Robert was born in Norristown Pennsylvania on January 31, 1936, son of Walter E. Glisson and Bernice Benjamin and baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church. He is preceded in Death by both his parents and siblings Walter E. Glisson, Virginia Bean, Rya Leonard, Sara Rowland, and his younger sister Barbara Yergey.
Robert attended Pottstown High School where he was on the basketball team. He loved to tell of the time his team played against Overbrook HS with their star player Wilt Chamberlain. In 1952 he entered into the Navy at the age of 16 and served during the Korean War. Robert earned the National Defense Service Medal for his service to our country and helped recommission the Ticonderoga at the Brooklyn Naval Yard.
Robert and Charmayne (Signorovitch) wed on March 2, 1963 and have four children; Matthew Glisson (Nancy) of Conshohocken, Carolyn Pearson (Richard) of Skippack, Stacey Dello Buono (Steven) of Lansdale, and Stephanie Glisson of Plymouth Meeting.
Robert was a retired fork-lift operator and a member of the Iron Workers Union. He was employed by Penco Products Inc. for more than 30 years and served as their union representative. He taught his children about hard work, kindness, and doing the right thing by his example.
He shared his love of math and history with all of his 12 grandchildren; Olivia (Dello Buono) Gevirtz, Dillon Glisson, Alex Dello Buono, Aubrey Holmstrom, Sky Glisson, Drew Pearson, Taylor Holmstrom, Jarett Dello Buono, Chloe Pearson, Shaylyn Holmstrom, Natalia Dello Buono, and Mia Holmstrom. He is blessed to have had time with two great grandchildren, Lenni Ruth Glisson and Isabel Gevirtz.
Robert is known throughout the community as he loved to listen and share stories around town on his trips to run errands or out with his grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Robert will be held at Moore, Snear, and Ruggerio Funeral Home (3rd & Fayette Streets, Conshohocken, Pa 19428) on Monday April 10, 2023 at 10:30 am. There will be a viewing for family and friends on Monday Morning from 9:00 Am to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pa 18940) Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 9:00am.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphia, TN 38105, to continue Robert's legacy of caring.
