Robert C. “Rock” Cary, Jr., age 76, of Norristown, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

He was born in Santa Monica, California on September 15, 1949, the son of the late Robert C. Cary, Sr. and the late Nola (Tovas) Cary.

Rock was raised in Santa Monica and then lived in Arizona. Upon moving to Pennsylvania, he was a resident of Conshohocken before moving to Norristown in 2002. He was a former parishioner of St. Matthew’s RC Church. Rock honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He served as the former Commander of the Conshohocken VFW Post 1074. He was an avid Phillies baseball fan. Most of all he was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years. Donna Van Sant (née Filler) of Norristown; four children, Lauren (Robert) Wittig of Norristown, Robert C. Cary, III (Alyssa Pesini) of Conshohocken, Jaclyn Cary of Norristown and Zachary Van Sant of Norristown; and six grandchildren, Emily, Olivia, Ryan, Sophia, Christian and Nicholas.

Along with his parents, Rock was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lynn Cary; sister, Judy Davis; and brother, Steve Cary.

His Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 10:30 AM from St. Matthew's RC Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the March of Dimes.
