Orsola (Chiaradonna) Carbone, of East Norriton, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on August 22, 2026, just five days shy of her 95th birthday, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 27, 1931, in Montella, Avellino, in the Campania region of Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Gerardina (Bruno) Chiaradonna. Before immigrating to the United States, Orsola worked side by side with her father and family as farmers, helping to cultivate their land and support the household. These early experiences instilled in her a lifelong dedication to hard work, family, and community.
Orsola and her late husband, Sebastiano, immigrated from Montella to the United States in 1968, settling in Norristown, PA. They remained there until 1995, when they moved into the home they proudly built in East Norriton. They were devoted parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Norristown.
In her early years in the United States, Orsola worked at Morabito's Bakery, where her warm spirit and strong work ethic quickly endeared her to coworkers and customers alike. She later worked as a seamstress, becoming a top performer for many years at Jacob Reed's Sons of Philadelphia, a major local manufacturer of military uniforms located in Bridgeport, PA. Her skill, precision, and dedication made her an invaluable part of the company. After retiring from Jacob Reed's Sons, Orsola continued to share her love and care by providing childcare for her grandchildren, extended family, and close family friends-children who grew to see her as an extension of their own family.
Orsola enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and baking. She was especially known for her famous pasta sauce and meatballs, her pineapple cookies, Italian pound cake, and the countless meals she prepared with love. Above all, her greatest devotion was to her family. She found joy in nurturing children and created a home filled with love, tradition, and generosity.
She was the wife of the late Sebastiano Carbone, who passed in 2020, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.
Orsola is survived by her children:
· Josephine (Richard) Thornton, and their daughters Lisa (Sean) Cunningham and Kristy (John) Imperiale

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Angelo, Salvatore, and Aldo Chiaradonna, and her sister Gemma Chiaradonna.
