Mildred "Millie" Detwiler
Mildred (Wisniewski) Detwiler, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 26,2024 at Country Meadows of Bethlehem, PA.
Millie was born in Conshohocken, but grew up in Norristown. She was predeceased by her mother Salome (Woznicki) Wisniewski, sisters Eleanor "Ellie" Wood and Violet "Pudge"Rhoads. Surviving is sister Florence "Cookie" Bleuit of Norristown. She was a graduate of Norristown area High School.After graduating she worked as a medical secretary for mulitple doctor groups over her career, she retired from Norristown surgical to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Millie was married to James Detwiler, who predeceased her. Millie and Jim had two children, Daughter Suzanne Simpson who predeceased Millie, Married to Thomas Simpson. Son Jeffrey Detwiler, Married to Debra Detwiler. Also surviving Millie are grandchildren; Thomas Simpson(Lauren), Melissa Simpson (Christina), Katelyn Simpson and Jessica Detwiler. She is also survived by Great Grand Children Taylor, Hailey and Paxton Simpson.
Millie loved to travel internationally as well as domestically. There was always the occasional trip to LL Bean in Maine for socks. Millie loved Philadelphia Sports teams, especially the Phillies. Ever the pessimist about her Phillies, deep down she loved watching and rooting for them. Her favorite thing was watching her children and then grandchildren grow up. She played an integral part in all of their lives.
Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM from Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA.
Friends may call on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at funeral home.
Interment will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.
