Obituary

Martha Haden (Brown) Steich, age 84, formerly of Hereford, PA passed away with loved ones at her bedside on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

She was born in Cynthiana, KY on October 7, 1939, the daughter of the late William C. "Curly" and Bonnie Jo (Haden) Brown.

Martha was a resident of Hereford, PA before recently moving to the Spring City Veterans' Center.

She honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1963.

She is survived by her husband Fred P. Steich, Jr. of Spring City, PA; son, Paul Douglass of Windgap, PA; daughter, Linda Prather of Pennsburg, PA; son, Ronald Proctor (Heather) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Bonnie Mae Steich (Mark Schmidt) of Collegeville, PA; and daughter, Beth Ann Wood of Collegeville, PA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Joy, Jamie, Gary Jr., Pamela, Derek, Amanda, Derek, Alec, Sofia, and Madelynne Jean; and 15 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Richard "Bobby Dick" Brown and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Whirles.

Martha enjoyed life, especially going to the Casino, watching NASCAR, sewing and crocheting, hanging out on her deck watching the Hummingbirds or welcoming visitors, sitting in her recliner playing games on her phone while Dad was in the other chair doing his thing or taking a ride in her Tracker with the top down. But more importantly she enjoyed her time with her family and those she made family, having them in her home for holidays, to play Uno, or to make Nut Tossies. Her house was the place to be as friends and neighbors would come to hang out. Everyone and every animal was welcome in her home. She was the true Matriarch of her family and will be missed by so many.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
