Obituary

Marc Rodrigue, 87, of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on July 24, 1939, in St. Samuel, Quebec, Marc was the son of the late Damien Rodrigue and the late Georgianna Morin. Raised on his family's farm, he developed the strong work ethic and generous spirit that would define his life. In 1958, Marc moved to the United States at the age of 18, where he planted his roots and built a life. He spent 25 years in Connecticut, followed by 18 years in Naperville, Illinois, before making Collegeville, Pennsylvania his home for the past 26 years. To Marc's great happiness, all four of his children eventually settled within five miles of him and one another, allowing the family to remain especially close.

Family was Marc's greatest passion. A builder by trade, he generously shared his wisdom and skills, mentoring many throughout his life with great patience and care. Marc's craftmanship is seen in countless homes of family and friends, including most of the homes the family grew up in and the homes of each of his children.

Marc was an ice hockey enthusiast. A lifelong hockey player, he actively competed on the ice until the age of 79. When he was not playing, he was either watching on the television or from the stands. Marc was also his children's and Grandchildren's greatest fan. Marc cheered them on in whatever passion they pursued and was so proud of all their accomplishments. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Marc was happiest when using his skills and experience to help others, whether renovating a home for a family or helping someone find just the right car.

Throughout his remarkable life, Marc embraced many adventures, including years flying small planes. Yet it was life's simple pleasures that meant the most to him: sharing meals with family, spending time with his beloved dogs, and bringing smiles to friends and loved ones with cans of maple syrup from a family farm in Quebec. Blessed with a gift for storytelling, singing, and entertaining, Marc had a way of making every gathering brighter. His warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Marc is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gail Bloom Rodrigue, as well as his cherished children, Michelle Kohler (Craig Kohler), Renaud Rodrigue (Megan Fahey), Dorothy Exline (Steve Exline), and Nicole Moshang (Tom Moshang).

He will also be lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren: Fred DeMott (Courtney DeMott), Daniel Peters (Grace Peters), Chris Rodrigue (Darby Donnolly), Alex DeMott (Danielle DeMott), Madeline Rodrigue (Nick Prey), Haley Rodrigue, Kaitlyn Moshang, Brian Exline, and Jake Moshang; and by his six great-grandchildren: Lukas, Victor, Alex Jr., Gracie, Arthur and Lily.

Marc shared a lifelong bond with his siblings: the late Clémence (Jean-Roch Fecteau), the late Paulin (Liliane Rodrigue), the late Lorraine (late Raymond Bouchard), Yvon (Lise Bolduc), Ginette (André Savoie), Liliane (Roger Roy), Lise (Jacques Vachon), the late Simonne (Michel Vachon), Jean-Guy (Hélène Gosselin), and his late sister-in-law and her husband, Sherry and Jean-Guy Rancourt.

Marc also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins in both Canada and the United States, who he enjoyed visiting every opportunity he had.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426.
