Obituary

Leokadia Matkowski, age 88, of Conshohocken, PA was embraced by her late husband, Joseph Matkowski, to enter through the gates of heaven on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

The sun rose and the world welcomed Leokadia on February 15, 1936 in Wroclaw, Poland, a day the world became a little brighter. Leokadia lived a full and warm life, surrounded by nature. She felt a close connection with animals, loved to garden, and soak up the sunshine. She will fondly be remembered and sorely missed.

She was always found in prayer, and she cherished her relationship with God. She was a dedicated parishioner of the former St. Mary's RC Church and St. Matthew's RC Church, both of Conshohocken, and attended the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA.

Leokadia was predeceased by her husband, son, and parents. Along with her four brothers Edward, Emil, Michael and Elliot Matkowski; and her sister, Hanna Bilinski.

She is survived by her daughter, Zuzanna Mikelsons and son in-law Ronald J. Mikelsons of Eagleville; brother, Edward Matkowski of Poland; three grandchildren, Christina Milligan, Katie White (TJ White), and Ronald Mikelsons (Amanda Mikelsons); and twelve great grandchildren, Braydon, Evan, Quinn, Declan, Fiona and Gwendolyn Milligan, Annie and Trip White, and Breylan, Colton, Grace and Kay Mikelsons.

She will be dearly missed, especially by her three grandchildren who are eternally grateful for the lifetime of love she gave to them.
