Joseph E. Maurer, 74, of Worcester, PA passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 4, 1949, the son of the late Joseph Maurer and the late Alice Pearl (Zimmerman).
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda J. Maurer (nee Noel) of Worcester, PA; daughter, Jennifer L. Maurer (& Michael Swann) of Yardley, PA, along with their children, Jackson and Adelynn; two sisters, Patricia (& Tim) Conners of Churchville, PA and Catherine (& Jerry) Duffy of Philadelphia, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Lawlor; and brother, John Lenhardt, Jr.
Joe graduated from Frankford High School, and then honorably served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his return, he earned both his Bachelor and Master of Arts Degrees from Temple University. Joe lived most of his adult life in the Worcester, PA area.
Outdoor activities were always a favorite pastime for Joe. He was a coach for Jenn's childhood soccer team and spoke fondly of his father-daughter events with the Indian Princess program. He was a huge cycling enthusiast for many years, a long-term tennis player and skier, taking many ski vacations around the country. Later, golf became his passion, and he spent many early mornings with friends on the golf course at Manufacturers' Golf and Country Club. After retiring, Joe spent time in Florida, enjoying more golf and walks on the beach.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 1802 W. Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be private.
