Joseph J. Hein, age 83, of West Norriton, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
He was born in Norristown, PA on November 29, 1942, the son of Harry Hein and Elizabeth ( Maguire).
Joseph grew up in West Conshohocken until his family moved to Jeffersonville, where he was a lifetime member of Jeffersonville Fire Company. He lived in Norristown for the first 6 years after his marriage and has lived in West Norriton for over 55 years since. Joseph worked for the township of West Norriton for 37 years, where he was able to climb the ranks to township manager for 10 years before retiring in 2006.
He graduated form Bishop Kenrick High School, class of 1960.
Joseph served in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1964 to 1970 as a Sargent.
Joseph had the pleasure of serving as President of Montgomery County Public Works Association, West Norriton Township Commissioner, and Chairman of West Norriton Civil Service Commission.
He was a CYO baseball coach for over 10 years at St. Teresa of Avila. An Avid sports fan, Joseph was also known for his love for the Phillies and Eagles, and most of all his love for his dog Snickers.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn (Kehl) Hein of West Norriton, Pa, Mathew (Tracy) Hein - son, of Downingtown, Pa, Suzanne (William) Addis - daughter, of Gainesville, VA, His grandchildren Tyler Hein, Lindsay Hein, Payton Addis and Logan Addis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded by 2 Sisters Alice Noblit and Dorothy Valerio.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday September 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM at
St. Teresa RC Church, 1260 South Trooper Road, Audubon, Pa 19403.
There will be a viewing for family and friends on Saturday morning from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the church.
Interment will take place in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, Pa.
