Obituary

John D. Salmons, 83, of Plymouth Meeting, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 22, 1941, the son of the late Albert and Mary Salmons.

John was a Vietnam Veteran, serving one tour in the 1960s in the Artillery unit.

He was an active man and a good neighbor, who would regularly walk the neighborhood and pick up trash, cut his neighbor's lawns, and snowblow. John was a man of many interests, a true renaissance man. He was an excellent disco dancer with an extended group of like-minded friends and he continued to enjoy dancing through his last years of life. He loved fireworks, motorcycles, and fancy cars. He hosted family Christmas parties that generations of family looked forward to every year. John had a wonderful sense of humor and a mischievous and infectious laugh. He had a unique outlook on life and followed his own path with confidence and grace, caring little for trends or expectations. His personal style was entirely his own - unmistakably John.

John was deeply loved by his many nieces and nephews, who will forever remember him as the heart of every family gathering.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Salmons, as well as his siblings, Albert, A. Beatrice Norris, and Marcia (Salmons) Myers.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Stauffer and his 13 nieces and nephews.

John lived his life with gusto and much joy, he will be missed by all who knew him.
