John W.
Hockenbrock
Jan 2, 1942 — May 9, 2025
John W. Hockenbrock
John W. Hockenbrock, 83, of Eagleville, PA passed away Friday, May 9, 2025.
He was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on January 2, 1942, the son of the late Lee and Anna (Wilson) Hockenbrock.
John was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School and later graduated with a bachelors degree from St. Joseph's University. He worked in the tax departments of Alan Wood Steel Company, Strick Trailer, and advancing to Tax Manager at IMS International and Iron Mountain where he retired for the first time. Because he couldn't just stay retired enjoying many days with a beer in one hand and cigar in the other, he ended his career as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from where he retired for a second time.
John honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He proudly wore his USS Edisto hats along with many Navy shirts and sweatshirts gifted to him over the years. Ironically, a man that hated the cold spent some of his service time on an icebreaker in the arctic. He was a life member of the Bridgeport Fire Company #1, a member of the VFW as well as the American Legion. For over 53 years, he was also a devoted parishioner of Visitation B.V.M. Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Kathleen (Pilcicki) Hockenbrock; daughters, Michele Hockenbrock and Kristen (Anthony) Forte; son and best bud, John R. Hockenbrock; four grandchildren, Angelina Forte, Sydney Hockenbrock, Nick Forte, and Gianna Forte; three sisters, Patricia Ciaccio, Mary Alice Wilde, and Rosemarie Mayall. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Lewis Hockenbrock; his brother, Joseph Hockenbrock; and twin brother, Elmer Hockenbrock.
John's smile was the first thing that so many people noticed about him. He was warm and kind and would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, and they completely adored him in return. His presence in this world is going to be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
His Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 10:30 AM from Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Eagleville, PA.
Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
