Caracappa
Oct 17, 1943 — Oct 16, 2023
Joanne Caracappa
Joanne (Bono) Caracappa of Schwenksville, PA, formerly of East Norriton, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2023. She was 79.
Joanne was born on October 17th, 1943 in Norristown to Augustus Bono and Josephine (Cottone) Bono. She was the wife of the late Augustus (Gus) A. Caracappa.
Joanne was raised and lived the majority of her life in Norristown. She moved to Schwenksville in 2022. She was a member of the Holy Saviour Roman Catholic Church, where she attended Holy Saviour Grade School and graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1961.
Following high school, Joanne graduated from the Bryland Institute of Beauty Culture and owned a hair salon, Bono's Beauty Bazaar, with her sister Jean. She also worked for the Colonial School District at Colonial Middle School until her retirement in 2006.
During her retirement years, Joanne's greatest joy was caring for her twin grandchildren for the first few years of their lives and watching them grow. Nothing gave her more happiness than spending time with them whenever she could. Joanne enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and going on trips to the casino. She also kept in touch with her Bishop Kenrick classmates and organized monthly luncheons. In addition, she formed many close friendships with former coworkers that spanned decades. Joanne will be remembered for her larger than life personality, quick wit, and tremendous love she had for her family.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Justine (John) Dellangelo of Royersford, PA, grandchildren Ava and Jake Dellangelo, sister Elizabeth Bono of Plymouth Meeting, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband Gus and parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Charlotte Termine, Jean Borden, Stephen G. Bono and Anthony J. Bono.
