Jesse Griffin
Jesse Griffin, affectionately known as "Bummy," passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born on January 11, 1938, in West Conshohocken, PA, to the late Jesse and Mamie Griffin. He enjoyed 88 years of a life well lived. After honorably serving in the US Army, Jesse went on to retire from Hale Pump and later worked as an electrician.
Jesse loved hosting holidays and family gatherings at the home he shared with his wife, Bennie. But his favorite pastime was the simple, steady rhythm of daily life with Bennie running errands and visiting stores together, then coming home to their recliners to watch the news and Court TV side by side.
Jesse was an avid reader with a deep love of history. Most mornings began with a cup of coffee and three newspapers, and when his children were young, he made sure their Sunday mornings started with a big, hearty breakfast. He was proud to call Conshohocken home, and those who knew him could always count on hearing his favorite line: "beautiful downtown Conshohocken."
Family was everything to Jesse and he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandson, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters deeply.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his siblings, Naomi Wise, Rose Marie Butler, Earl Griffin, Ella Mae Herbert, Geneva Johnson, and Gerald Griffin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Bennie; his children, Dee Berry, Michelle Newton (Nathan), Jessica (James), and Chris; his grandchildren, Tierra, Tony, Chris Jr., Riley, Jesse, Chase, and Victoria; his great-grandson, Eli; his brother, James (Joan); and a host of nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 10:30 AM from Moore Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home.
