Obituary

Jean T. Dupell, Sanatoga, PA, age 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in her home surrounded by family. Jean also lived in Poinciana, FL; Mohnton, PA; Morgantown, PA and Norristown, PA. She was a parishioner of St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church of Limerick.


Jean was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 17, 1935, the youngest child and only daughter of the late George Louis Trout and the late Ida (Auge) Trout. She graduated from Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia in 1953. After graduation, she attended Modernella Beauty School in Upper Darby. She obtained her beautician's license and worked as a hairdresser at Mary Owen's Beauty Salon, JC Penny, and Leader Nursing Homes. She also worked as a sales associate at Strawbridge's in the records and housewares departments. Jean's favorite job of all was being a loving and caring Nan, Nanny and Gigi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved without limit.


She was the wife of the late Francis J. Dupell, with whom she celebrated 58 years of loving marriage until his passing in 2015. Fran and Jean spent time in Ikebukuro, a district in Tokyo, Japan, in the beginning of their marriage during his service in the United States Army. They returned to Philadelphia to continue to grow and raise their family in Norristown, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.


Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David B. (Rosemary) Dupell of Collegeville, PA; daughter, Valerie (Michael) Long of Royersford, PA; daughter in-law, Michelle Dupell of Mohnton, PA; eight grandchildren, Arielle (Evan) Brodowski, David A. (Stefania) Dupell, Daniel Dupell, Andrew (Melissa) Long, Rachel (Kevin) Foldes, Joshua Dupell (Emily), Aric Dupell and Amanda Dupell; and eight great grandchildren, Oliver, Austin, Dante, Mason, Kayleigh, Travis, Benjamin and Landon. She is also survived by her great nephew Michael (Amanda) Ciach and their children, Gavin and Danica, and her great niece, Kiersten (Amanda) Edmondson and their son, Lucas and many nieces and nephews.


Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lance T. and Craig R. Dupell; and two brothers, George W. and Robert J. Trout.


Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation in church on Friday, January 24 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, followed by her Memorial Mass at 1:00 PM in St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473.


Committal will take place privately at a later date in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
