Obituary

Jane Ann McLaughlin, age 81, of Collegeville, PA passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

She graduated from West Catholic High School in 1960.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 23, 1942, the daughter of the late James Joseph and Adele May (Jouet) Doyle.

Jane was a resident of Collegeville for over 30 years, coming from Cherry Hill, NJ by way of Huntsville, AL. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Eleanor RC Church of Collegeville, PA. She had a long career as an Administrative Assistant first at Drexel University and later at Ursinus College, although we are reasonably sure that it was her friends and not the work that she most enjoyed. After her retirement, she volunteered as receptionist for Phoenixville Hospital at their Limerick location because she could never stop helping people. Jane wasn't a sports enthusiast, but she did like watching Notre Dame football, which is a Doyle Family tradition. She loved gaming, enjoying a good round of hearts or dominos with her family, as well as her monthly Bunco groups in both Cherry Hill and Collegeville. She also never passed up an opportunity for a trip to the casinos, especially with her twin sister Joan or her mother, Mom-Mom Doyle. She was always generous with her time and her love. If she had a catch phrase it would have been "Can I get you something?"

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William McLaughlin of Collegeville; three children, Mark McLaughlin of Chicago, IL, Karen (Steven) Allison of Irvine, CA, and Kevin McLaughlin of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Joseph Patrick (Nancy) Doyle of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren, Anna and Owen Allison. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother.

Jane was the youngest of nine and was preceded in death by siblings, Eleanor Anderson, James "Bud" Doyle, Edward Doyle, Adele "Dell" DeLuca, Francis Doyle, Vincent "Jerry" Doyle and her twin sister Joan Marie Carbo.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.

Interment will be private in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
