James J. Peck, 81, of Collegeville, PA passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 9, 1943, the son of the late James J. and the late Anna (Doyle) Peck.
Jim was raised in Philadelphia before moving to Collegeville, PA, where he has lived for 53 years. He was a parishioner of St. Eleanor's RC Church. Jim was an Army veteran with the 1st Armored Division, honorably discharged as a Specialist 4th Class in communications. He used those skills acquired in the Army as a programmer for PJM Interconnection, coordinating the movement of electricity along the East Coast of the United States. He enjoyed athletics, completing a marathon by his 40th birthday, and having a passion for volleyball. Being a family man, he assumed an endless number of roles for his children, including coach, Boy Scout pack leader, financial advisor, and all-around role-model. Jim was also a model train enthusiast, a fan of all things Philly, and in his later years, found great joy and pride in all of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Katherine Peck (née Keenan) of Collegeville; two sons, Sean (Sharon) Peck of Phoenixville and Brian (Elizabeth) Peck of Schwenksville; daughter, Megan Brennan (Joseph Rosko, III) of East Norriton; and sister, Nancy Mottola of Rio Grande, NJ. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Catherine, John, Anne, Benjamin, Eleanor, Riley and Mateo.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine M. "Kitty" Peck.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:30 AM from St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday morning from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Church.
Interment will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA.
