Obituary

James A. Huey, age 92, of Collegeville, PA passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023.




He was born in Stranocum, County Antrim, Northern Ireland on February 7, 1931, the son of the late William Huey and Ellen E. Huey (née Dunbar).




Jimmy lived in Newtown Square and Chesterbrook, PA before moving to Collegeville, PA, where he has resided for over 35 years. He was a member and faithful supporter of Newtown Square Presbyterian Church.




Jimmy was a 70-year member of the Moyarget Masonic Lodge 280 of Ireland. He was a member of the LuLu Shriners, Masonic Blue Lodge and Red Lodge. He was Past Commander of Damascus Commandery #95 Knights Templar of Souderton, PA. He was a member of the Grand Masters Club of the Knights Templar Eye Foundation. He was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite since 1966. He was also Past Supreme Grand Master of the Loyal Orange Lodge of the USA. He was also the Past Master of the Washington Loyal Orange Lodge #43 and Past Grand Master of the Grand Black Chapter USA of Phila.




Jimmy and his wife Irene owned and operated Valley Forge Container, Inc. until his retirement at age 80.




He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene F. Huey (née Duncan) and sister, Nora McKay. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.




Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Bertie, Eddie, George, Andrew and John Huey and sister Annie (Huey) McKenzie.




His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.




Funeral services will also take place in Ireland with interment to follow in Bushvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery under the direction of D.J.M. Robinson & Son, Funeral Directors. Please visit www.robinsonsofculcrum.com for further information.
