Obituary

Henry W. Bailey, Jr., age 81, of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Paoli Hospital.

Born on July 10, 1945, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Henry was the son of the late Henry Bailey, Sr., and Ellen (Yerger) Bailey. He was raised in Pottstown and had made his home in Collegeville since 1976.

Henry was a graduate of Pottstown High School and Ryder Technical Institute, where he studied electronics. Throughout his career, he worked in a variety of roles in electrical engineering before establishing his own business, HB Systems, where he worked as a manufacturer's representative.

Henry proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.

Henry believed in being involved, lending a hand, and giving back to his community. His commitment to service was reflected in his involvement with Shenkel United Church of Christ and later Trinity United Church of Christ in Collegeville, where he sang in the choirs at both churches. He was also a member of the North Pennsmen Barbershop Chorus and the Trappe Kiwanis Club, and helped establish the inaugural Key Club chapter at Perkiomen Valley High School.

Above all, Henry's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who believed in showing up for the people he loved. His children's interests and activities became his own, and he gave generously of his time, volunteering with the 4-H Seeing Eye Puppy, Goat, and Livestock Clubs, helping with band activities, and cheering from the sidelines at sporting events. He took great pride in being part of his children's lives and was equally proud of his grandchildren, treasuring the time he spent with them.

Outside of his family and community commitments, Henry enjoyed a wide range of interests. He loved camping, fishing, playing guitar, and spending time at the beach, especially in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. He was a member of the Boyertown and Swamp Creek Rod & Gun Clubs, enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, and later took to the road in his 2001 red Corvette. He was always eager to learn more about the world around him and had a particular interest in the weather.

Henry had a gift for connecting with people of all ages. He enjoyed a good conversation and was a natural storyteller, entertaining family and friends with memorable tales, especially around the campfire on family camping trips. He was curious and resourceful, with a remarkable ability to figure things out. Whether a household repair or a project that needed tackling, Henry could usually find a way to fix it. He was someone people could count on, both for a helping hand and for a good story along the way.

Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carole (Renninger) Bailey, of Collegeville; his daughter, Stephanie (Bailey) Reed, of Wayne, Pennsylvania; and his three cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Marin, and Noa. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Matthew John Bailey; his parents, Henry Bailey, Sr., and Ellen Bailey; and his sisters, Margaret Reazor and Susan Nazaryk.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, Pennsylvania. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
