Gertrude E. Saunders, "Jessie", age 86, of East Norriton, PA passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 27, 1936, the daughter of the late David and Grace (Lawler) James.

Mrs. Saunders lived most of her life in East Norriton, PA. She was a founding parishioner of St. Titus RC Church and longtime parishioner of St. Paul's RC Church. She spent many years working with students with special needs in the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. She was very active at St. Paul's, teaching Special Education CCD for more than 40 years and serving as a Eucharistic Minister bringing communion to hospital patients. She was also active in the Senior Group. She enjoyed gardening and painting. Most of all, she was devoted to her family, especially her two grandchildren.

She was the wife of the late Joseph N. Saunders.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (& Barbara) Saunders of East Norriton, PA and Steven Saunders of West Norriton, PA; daughter, Patricia Saunders of Slaughter Beach, DE; grandson, Michael Saunders; and granddaughter, Mary Saunders.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by ten siblings.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM from St. Paul's RC Church, 2007 New Hope Street, Norristown, PA 19401. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday morning, December 29 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Church.

Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
