Obituary

Francis I. Cunnane

Francis I. Cunnane, 88, of Lafayette Hill, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Born on August 12, 1937, in Milltown, County Galway, Ireland, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Ryan) Cunnane. He emigrated to the United States with his family in the mid-1950s.

He met his wife, Grace, in the United States, and they shared more than 65 years of marriage.

Mr. Cunnane, known to many simply as Frank, first worked as a barber in Conshohocken, where he opened and operated Frank's Barber Shop, becoming a familiar and trusted presence in the community. He later transitioned to work as a mechanic with Heil Equipment, a role he carried out with the same reliability and dedication. He served in the United States Army Reserves and was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri RC Church in Lafayette Hill.

In 1979, he moved his family to Lafayette Hill, where he remained for over four decades. He was known for his steady nature, even temperament, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose presence provided strength and stability to those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Grace (Rodgers) Cunnane; his children, Mary (Bob Walter), Frank (Karin), Deb (Jim) Corr, and Lynn; his grandchildren, Cortney, Sara, Alyson, Frank, James, Ryan, Catherine, Sean, Cormac, and Eamon; his great-grandchildren, Eddy and Gracie; his brother, Chris (Jeanne) Cunnane; and an extended family of loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Cunnane, and his siblings David, Patricia, Sean, Rose, and Thomas.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his enduring commitment to his family, and the life he built through hard work, faith, and love.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Philip Neri RC Church.

Interment followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA.
