Derek Adam Knittle, age 39, of Conshohocken, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
He was born in Pottstown, PA on May 31, 1987. Derek was raised in Lansdale and has been living in Conshohocken for 12 years. He enjoyed golf, playing kickball, hiking and taking bike rides, walks through the neighborhood with his beloved pets, Pumba and Penny, or watching the Eagles as he pursued another Fantasy Football trophy. He was intentional about his health and staying fit and was a fixture at his local gym.
Derek loved exploring the world with his wife, Brianna, traveling throughout the United States and to destinations across the globe. He often shared stories of his cross-country road trip with his cousin Nick and his unforgettable adventures with Brianna in Ireland, South Africa, Copenhagen, and points far and wide. Whether close to home or halfway around the world, Derek embraced every journey with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine appreciation for the experiences and people he encountered.
At his heart, Derek was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was his wife and daughter. He never missed a family gathering or an opportunity to spend time with friends, believing that life's greatest treasures were the moments shared with the people he loved. There is not a single person who experienced him dancing the "Derkle" at a wedding or a party that will not remember him with a smile. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and a loyal friend to many.
Derek valued experiences over possessions, creating lasting memories through countless adventures with those he loved. He had a gift for making people feel important, always showing up when he was needed and offering his time, encouragement, and unwavering support. His kindness, generosity, and adventurous spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with his family and friends forever.
He is survived by his wife, Brianna L. Knittle (née McNally) of Conshohocken; daughter, Sara Knittle; father, Joe (Theresa) Grabowski of Lansdale; mother, Christine (Bob) Johnston of Lansdale; brother, Jerry Johnston of Lansdale, two sisters, Kimberly Johnston and Zoe Grabowski, both of Lansdale; and grandparents, Dorothy Knittle of Birdsboro, and Robert & Theresa Johnston of Ambler. He is also survived by father-in-law Michael McNally of Telford, mother-in-law, Maureen McNally of Perkasie, grandmother-in-law, Bonnie Hackett of Souderton, his brothers in-law, Michael (Elise) McNally and Charles McNally; sister in-law, Alison (Brett) Battle; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends too many to list.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 10:30 AM from St. Matthew's RC Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
Derek’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, July 19 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428; and on Monday on Monday, July 20 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church prior to Mass.
