Charles L. Mordan Sr., age 83, of Valley Forge, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
He was born in Danville, PA, on January 5, 1943, the son of the late Clayton Mordan and the late Hazel (Barnhart) Mordan.
Char graduated from Danville High School, Class of 1961. Shortly after graduation, he met Shirley, the love of his life. They married on May 11, 1963, and spent the next 63 years building a life and family together, settling in Valley Forge in 1969, where they made their home.
Char found some of his greatest enjoyment in the outdoors, whether he was out on the water fishing or in the woods hunting.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Shirley M. Mordan; his sons, Charles L. Mordan Jr. of Barto, PA, Rodney L. Mordan of Valley Forge, PA, and Michael W. Mordan (Dawn) of Collegeville, PA; his brother, Raymond Mordan of Danville, PA; and his sister, Alice Wintersteen of Riverside, PA.
His 7 grandchildren also survive him; Shirley, Ashley (Harrison), Charles III (Janette), Samantha (Tom), Jesse, Devin (Robby), and Eric (Marissa); 12 great-grandchildren; Jalen (Dianna), Jordan, Amiya, Kayla, Harrison, Isabella, Aubree, Averi, Penny, Beau, Emmaline, and Autumn; and 2 great-great-grandsons; Adrian and Ashton.
In addition to his parents, Char was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittany Lynn Mordan; his brothers, James, Arthur, Robert, Ralph, David, and Larry; and his sisters, Catherine Nungesser, Elsie Cragle, and Donna Shultz.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426.
There will be a viewing for family and friends on Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 East Arcadia Drive, Limerick, PA 19468.
A luncheon will be held at Sassamansville Fire Company, 1865 Hoffmansville Road, Sassamansville, PA 19472, following the interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Char's memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at themmrf.org.
