Arlene K. Smith, 84, of Collegeville, PA passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Phoenixville Hospital.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 2, 1941, the daughter of the late Dr. Morris and the late Jeannette (Goldenberg) Weiner. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1959, where she was the captain of the cheerleading team and voted "Miss Northeaster" by her peers.
She was the wife of the late Robert C. Smith. Arlene and Bob lived in Trooper for 48 years before moving to Collegeville in 2013. She worked as an administrator for Upper Merion School District until her retirement. Arlene had lasting friendships enduring over 50 years as well as establishing many new connections throughout her lifetime.
Arlene was a devoted member of her HOA community, where she chaired various committees, and organized and participated in countless events. She enjoyed being active by walking, swimming, gardening and playing mahjong with friends, and she was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. She loved to travel, which included annual trips to Siesta Key, FL. Above all else, her pride and joy were her two children, as well as her eight grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter Susan (Daniel) Bing, son David (Terese) Smith, brother Dr. Paul (Jo) Weiner, grandchildren Hailie, Alexa, Alexander, Zachary, Jacob, Noah, Benjamin, Jeremy, nephews Stephen, Joshua, David, and niece Allison.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA.
Her Graveside Service will be held Monday, June 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM from Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA. Those attending the service are asked to use the Limekiln Pike entrance and meet at the belltower at 9:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, Arlene's family would appreciate memorial contributions be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, for Pancreatic Cancer research - P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741
