Anna Marie DiJohn, age 90, of Zieglerville, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
She was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on August 6, 1933, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Arena) DiJohn.
Anna Marie lived in Norristown and Trappe, PA before moving to Frederick Living. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church of Schwenksville. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an Insurance Agent for John Hancock.
She was educated in Norristown (Hancock Elementary, Rittenhouse Junior High and Norristown High School, class of 1951). She began her working career at her father's bakery, Borzillo's Bakery at Main and Walnut Street in Norristown.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph (& Robin) McMonagle of Eagleville and Frank DiJohn McMonagle of Betzwood; three sisters, Antonette (the late Michael) Morabito of Plymouth Meeting, Frances "Cina" (the late Michael) Monastero of Valley Forge and Cathy (& David) Eastham of Downingtown, PA; and grandson, Adam McMonagle (& Alexa).
Anna Marie was active in sports in high school and that continued when she coached volleyball at Holy Saviour's and was timer for her sons' swim meets at Mermaid Lake in Whitpain. She will be long remembered for loading up her Corvair with the neighborhood kids and driving them to Mermaid Lake in the summers.
She had a love of animals dating back to her childhood; Inky, Frenchy and Norman were a few of her favorites. The love of her life was her grandson Adam and she endured repetitive viewings of Hook and Mrs. Doubtfire during his early years.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's RC Church, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.
Entombment will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local animal organization or pay it forward to others in Anna Marie's memory.
