Obituary of Daniel A. Ryan

Daniel A. Ryan Sr. ,who loved growing up in Southampton, PA and spent his recent years in Upper Gwynedd, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday July 11,2015. He was 63 years old. Dan showed heroic strength the past few years fighting through his medical obstacles. Born in Philadelphia on May 24, 1952 and was the son of the late Frank A. and Margaret L. (DeLuca) Ryan. Dan attended OLGC, a 1970 graduate of Archbishop Wood, and a 1972 graduate of Bucks County Community College. For many than 30 years, he was the division manager for the eastern territory for Mohawk/Karastan. Most recently, worked in sales at J.L. Freed Honda in Lansdale. He was well respected and personable with everyone. Dan was an avid golfer and known for his love of dogs. He was a car enthusiast and always enjoyed driving his "Vette" with the top down. He is survived by his devoted wife; Elaine M. (Miller) Ryan, his loving children; Daniel A. (Christie) Ryan Jr., Jennifer R. (Gregg) Rappaport, Kimberly A. (Ralph) Walter, and Timothy P. (Rachel) Ryan, his brother; Michael F. Ryan, and his sister; Marianne Yorty. Also survived by 10 grandchildren that loved and adored their Poppy, his nieces and nephews, and his dogs; Phineus and Grace. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 PM at the Moore, Snear, & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike (at Hannah Ave. ) Norristown, PA 19401. In addition, everyone invited to his viewing Thursday morning 9:30 – 10:45 AM followed by Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. HelenaRC Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Dan had a passion for the caring of our wounded warriors, therefor, in lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to: the Justin Pashley PTSD Fund, 256 Coleridge Lane Coatesville, PA 19320.
